Description

The Office of Professional and Education Development (OPED) is pleased to announce a funding opportunity for the Medical Education Research Fund (MERF) for Scholarly Projects in Medical Education. This grant supports innovative research projects to advance medical students’ and educators’ knowledge, skills, and professionalism.

The MERF grant focuses on evaluating, understanding, and innovating educational practices to improve medical education. The grant is open to various didactical frameworks, theories, and research methodologies.

We invite all eligible candidates to apply for the grant. The principal investigator must hold a faculty appointment with the Faculty of Medicine of Memorial University. Staff members, MD program students, postgraduate trainees, and graduate students may apply as a collaborator with a faculty member.

The deadline for the submission of proposals is June 30, 2023.

The Dean, Faculty of Medicine, has contributed $30,000 to support this initiative, and funding up to a maximum of $10,000 per project is available.

Interested candidates can submit their proposals electronically to the Office of Professional and Education Development to apply for the grant.
