Organising for change: how can higher education meet the changing needs of employment?

University of Pretoria, South Africa
The seminar will explore the role of higher education in driving economic change and creating skilled, work-ready graduates. This will be discussed in the context of challenges, such as rising global youth unemployment and ever increasing university student numbers.
The ACU is partnering with Wilton Park, the UK Department for International Development, National Research Foundation (South Africa), and the University of Pretoria (an ACU member) to stage this high-level seminar.
As an organisation, we appreciate the huge demands now being placed on higher education institutions to produce graduates capable of meeting the requirements of employment, and we recognise that universities throughout the Commonwealth are producing much best practice in the field. We believe this deserves exposure to a wider audience.
Apply or nominate a participant
We are offering around 20 fully-funded places (travel, accommodation and conference costs), exclusively to our member institutions.
Participants should be individuals who are driving effective change in the area of graduate employment (most likely at senior management level) and / or those who have introduced novel practices that can be shared with universities throughout the Commonwealth.
The seminar will be highly participative and attendees should be willing and able to give a session presentation, if invited.
