NOTE: NSERC Discovery NOI’s do not require Institutional Signature from RGCS for this competition
It is time to start preparing your Discovery Grant application. A Notification of Intent to Apply (NOI) must be submitted by the deadline date of August 1. The NOI is mandatory when applying for a Discovery Grant (Subatomic Physics) application. Applicants who do not submit a NOI cannot submit a full application later in the fall. The information contained in the NOI allows NSERC to start some aspects of the review process, including preliminary assignment to an Evaluation Group, selection of external reviewers and verification of the eligibility of the subject matter.
New Application Process for Discovery Grants
If you intend to submit an application to the 2019 Research Grants Subatomic Physics competition, you must submit a Subatomic Physics Notification of Intent to Apply (NOI) to NSERC by the deadline of August 1, 2018, at 8:00 p.m. (ET) for Subatomic Physics Discovery (SAP-DG), Major Resources Support (SAP-MRS), and Categories 2 and 3 Research Tools and Instruments (SAP-RTI) grant applications. The NOI is mandatory. NSERC will not accept a NOI after the deadline. Researchers who do not submit a NOI cannot submit a full application later in the fall. The information contained in the NOI allows NSERC to start the review process (e.g., confirmation of assignment to the Subatomic Physics Evaluation Section, selection of appropriate external reviewers, and determination of the most appropriate review mechanism for applications requesting major financial support).
