Description

The Atlantic Indigenous Mentorship Network is a 5-year mentorship program funded by the Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health (IIPH) at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). The CIHR-IIPH initiated the Indigenous Mentorship Network Program (IMNP) in 2017 to support research networks and capacity building for Indigenous health and wellness students and Indigenous early career researchers through culturally relevant learning opportunities and mentorship activities. The Atlantic Indigenous Mentorship Network is among seven regional networks and one national network operating across what is currently Canada. The Kausattumi (Inuttitut for ‘the dawn’) Grants Program is an initiative of the Atlantic Indigenous Mentorship Network that will provide financial support to those who are undertaking or are interested in undertaking Indigenous community-based health and wellness research.

CONFERENCE TRAVEL AWARDS

Travel awards of $2,000 for conference travel are available for Indigenous undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, or early career researchers. The conference will be a knowledge-sharing event related to or about community-informed and supported Indigenous health research . Priority will be given to presenters.
