Since October 21, 2016, BFN has been developing a plan with the NCE and BFN members to help assure the orderly winding down of the NCE’s Cycle 1 investments and minimize the negative impact on our HQP. The NCE has already granted a no-cost extension to March 31, 2018 for Cycle 1 projects currently underway and BFN has removed the 20% carry forward limit for this year to help researchers complete their projects in the extension year. It is our hope that this leeway will provide your current HQP with enough time to either graduate or find alternative funding to continue their degrees.
The NCE has also requested that we maximize the return on their investment by investing the balance of unallocated funds currently held at BFN. To this end, we are offering to invest up to $10,000 per work package and task force currently underway for Knowledge Translation (KT) and commercialization activities stemming from your Cycle 1 work that can be completed by March 31, 2017.
Who can apply?
This competition is only available for investigators belonging to the universities which are signatories to the BFN Network Agreement. Funding is conditional on compliance with the terms and conditions of network participation set out in the BioFuelNet Network Agreement and BioFuelNet NCE Funding Agreement.
