Twice each year the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute holds a funding competition as part of its Cancer Research Training Program (CRTP). The CRTP has a curriculum that provides training and funding to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and clinical research fellows involved in cancer research training at recognized institutions in Atlantic Canada. A limited number of traineeship awards will be offered to outstanding applicants with an interest in cancer research. Supervisors must be Scientists, Senior Scientists or Associate Members of BHCRI to apply.
Funding for these awards has been made available from a variety of sources, the most significant of which is received from the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation (DMRF). A limited number of stipends are available for applicants from outside Dalhousie Faculties of Health, Medicine and Dentistry and require 1:1 matching funds. The New Brunswick Health Research Foundation (NBHRF) has partnered with BHCRI to support New Brunswick cancer researchers. For other successful applications, a confirmation of matching funds will be required before BHCRI funds can be transferred.
The CRTP BHCRI Traineeship Application deadline is 4:00pm ADT on 4 October 2022. Funding will begin on 1 January 2023.
