Deadlines
Academic Unit: Inquire with unit
Memorial Deadline: Friday 2nd, October 2026
External Deadline: Wednesday 7th, October 2026
Description
The PCARP Focused Pilot Award supports the exploration and development of impactful and
innovative concepts under a patient-centered focus area of pancreatic cancer research that
could ultimately lead to major advancements that will have a profound effect on patients’ overall
quality of life. The research this award supports should strive to produce robust
preliminary data that can serve as a foundation for future clinical or real-world research
application. This mechanism will not support clinical trials evaluating the effects of an
intervention on biomedical or other health-related outcomes. Projects that meet the intent of this
opportunity include clinical studies that are observational in nature and do not seek to measure
safety, effectiveness, and/or efficacy outcome(s) of an intervention. Additionally, studies that
analyze data generated from previously conducted clinical trial(s) are permitted.
Examples of studies appropriate for the PCARP Focused Pilot Award include, but are not limited
to:
• Correlations between mental health and/or cancer-related outcomes and quality of life.
• Behavioral studies that examine quality of life, decision-making and/or cognitive function.
• Development and pilot studies examining nutritional approaches, educational strategies, and
methods for managing symptoms.
