Description
The Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) released program announcements for the following funding opportunities:
- Data Science Award
The FY26 PCRP Data Science Award (DSA) supports research that develops or uses
quantitative and analytical approaches, processes and/or systems to obtain knowledge and
insight from large and/or complex sets of prostate cancer data. If successful, the studies will
enable progress toward addressing one or more of the FY26 PCRP Overarching Challenges.
The PCRP expects that investigators will openly share any resources, tools, or computational
processes generated by this award with the prostate cancer research and patient community. - Early Investigator Research Award
The FY26 PCRP Early Investigator Research Award (EIRA) supports prostate cancer-focused
research opportunities for individuals in the early stages of their careers under the guidance of
one or more designated mentors. This opportunity allows early-career investigators to develop a
research project, investigate a problem or question in prostate cancer research, and further their
intellectual development as prostate cancer researchers of the future.
- Idea Development Award
The FY26 PCRP Idea Development Award (IDA) intends to support new ideas that represent
innovative approaches to prostate cancer research and have the potential to make an important
contribution to the PCRP mission. - Physician Research Award
The FY26 PCRP Physician Research Award (PRA) supports a mentored research experience to
prepare physicians with clinical duties and/or responsibilities for productive careers in prostate
cancer research. The application should name the early-career physician as the PI of the
application. This award emphasizes equally the quality of the proposed research project and the
career development of the PI, which should prepare physicians for careers in basic, population
science, translational or clinical prostate cancer research.
