Description

he specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:

  • Provide Travel Bursaries for the Public Health 2020 (CPHA annual conference) for presenters (knowledge users, trainees or Early Career researchers) who have been accepted to be part of the Public Health 2020 scientific program.
  • Support the sharing of research at Public Health 2020 that:
    • addresses one or more of the IPPH strategic research priorities;
    • increases the capacity of the Canadian health research community to lead and collaborate on cutting-edge population and public health research and knowledge translation, both nationally and internationally; and/ or iii) builds on/align with existing IPPH initiatives (e.g. Environments and Health Signature Initiative, Pathways to Health Equity).
  • Funds Available

     

    • The total amount available for this funding opportunity is $18,000, enough to fund approximately 12 awards. This amount may increase if additional funding partners participate. The maximum amount per award is $1,500 per year 1 year.
    • Of this $18,000:
      • -Up to $3,000 is available to fund 2 awards for applicants in Western Canada (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia).
      • -Up to $3,000 is available to fund 2 awards for applicants in Central Canada (Quebec, Ontario)).
      • -Up to $3,000 is available to fund 2 awards for applicants in Eastern Canada (Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick).
      • -Up to $3,000 is available to fund 2 awards for applicants in Northern Canada (Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut).
      • -Up to $3,000 is available to fund 2 awards focused on Indigenous Health Research in any province in Canada
      • The remainder is available to fund remaining applications in rank order as far as the remaining budget will allow.
