Description

The Canadian Safety and Security Program (CSSP) is looking to develop several research micro-nets to advance the application of promising artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies to support first responders.

Eligible applicants could receive up to $2 million in funding over three years to build a network of expertise in support of Canada’s current and future safety and security needs.

The CSSP has launched a science and technology challenge that will focus on the following key areas:

  • – big data and algorithm-based tools for strategic and operational levels of analysis;
  • – responder analytics for the frontline;
  • – AI tools for detecting tri-service/emergency management trends, activities, and information fusion; and,
  • – improved situational awareness science and technology supports that go beyond current industry offerings.

Eligible applicants must submit a letter of intent by 2:00 pm Eastern Time on November 15, 2023, to be considered for the second stage of the application process.

Only applicants that submit a letter of intent will be considered to be invited to submit a full proposal.
