The intent of the Clinician Scientist Fellow Award is to encourage early-stage specialist clinicians to pursue a career in blood cancer research. The award is specifically targeted at Doctors of Medicine (MDs) near, or recently at, the completion of specialty training in hematology, oncology, hematopathology, pathology, or other related disciplines and who have initiated or have immediate plans to begin supervised research training directed at blood cancers.
This opportunity is designed to foster ꟷ through provision of a contribution to their salary and research program ꟷ the acquisition of skills and independence of clinical fellows to conduct research in blood cancers at the laboratory, clinical or combined levels.
Funds Available
- The total amount available for this funding opportunity is $300,000, enough to fund approximately 1 award, to be equally funded by ICR and the partner ($150,000 each). The maximum amount per award is $100,000 per year for up to 3 years, for a total of $300,000 per award.
- Award funding is allocated as follows:
- Salary support: $60,000 per annum including fringe benefits.
- Research allowance: $40,000 per annum.
