Description

Research Grant and Contract Services will not be completing the electronic submission for these grants, but will be supporting Academic Units in their review of applications as they may require. If you are intending on applying to any of these competitions, please contact your Grants Facilitation Officer, Associate Dean (Research) or equivalent unit signatory to obtain information on deadlines and processes for institutional review and electronic submission for your unit.

SIRI will be offering support with application development for this opportunity. Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact Jennifer Stevens (v5js@mun.ca) early during the development process to discuss the services available to them.

Under the direction of the CRCC, the 2021 Innovative Approaches to Research in the Pandemic Context competition of the New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) was launched today. The goal of the funding opportunity is to accelerate the exploration of new approaches and the development and testing of new directions in research methodologies, to respond to challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. All competition documents are available on our website, and the Convergence Portal is open.

The competition has 2 stages:

  1. Notification of Intent to Apply (NOI) stage with a deadline of September 21, 2021 (at 8 p.m. Eastern Time).  Full Application stage with a deadline of October 26, 2021 (at 8 p.m. Eastern Time)

Applications at each stage must be submitted by research administrators.

Research administrators are free to set their own internal deadlines.

In preparation for the NOI deadline, we encourage all applicants and research administrators to participate in one of the two upcoming webinars.
