Learn more about the eligibility requirements and funding available on the Parkinson Canada website.
Parkinson Canada is committed to including the patient voice in the annual Research Grant Competition and enhancing patient engagement in research. To help achieve that goal, applicants are asked to describe how their projects will be relevant to the patient community and to include a plain language summary of their proposal. Please see these resources for more information on what patient engagement means, how it can be meaningfully incorporated into research, and how to write plain language summaries:
- Resources compiled by CIHR’s Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis
- Resources developed by PiPER
- Resources compiled by the Canadian Cancer Society
Beginning this year, Parkinson Canada is also prioritizing research with a focus on the health and well-being of women with Parkinson’s. This focus recognizes that women are uniquely impacted by Parkinson’s due to biological, social, and health care factors that remain underexplored in research currently. For more information on this new research priority area, please see the relevant RFAs for each grant application type.
The deadline for applications is November 3, 2025.
