Description

Graduate Student Award

  • Two-year duration 
  • $10,000 per year  
  • Full-time graduate students at the PhD level conducting research relevant to the cure, cause, prevention, improved treatment and/or understanding of Parkinson’s disease or related disorders. 

Note: The Graduate Student Award for the Master’s level is not available.

  • Parkinson Canada and New Brunswick Health Research Foundation (NBHR) Partnership Awards 

Basic Research Fellowship

  • Two-year duration 
  • $40,000 – $50,000 per year  *(See RFA for more information) 
  • Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (MD or PhD) obtained in the last 5 years and be conducting research relevant to the cure, cause, prevention, improved treatment and/or understanding of Parkinson’s disease or related disorders.

Clinical Research Fellowship

  • Two-year duration 
  • $75,000 per year 
  • Medical doctor with specialty training in either clinical neurology or neurosurgery seeking to gain further fellowship training in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s and related movement disorders. In addition to clinical training, this award is intended for applicants conducting research relevant to the cure, cause, prevention, improved treatment and/or understanding of Parkinson’s disease or related disorders. 

Clinical Movement Disorder Fellowship

  • One-year duration 
  • $75,000 per year 
  • Medical doctor with specialty training in either clinical neurology or neurosurgery seeking to gain further fellowship training in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s and related movement disorders.

  • 2023-2025 Competition Cycle Launch: November 15, 2022 
  • Application Submission Deadline: February 6, 2023 (11:59 PM EST) 
  • Anticipated Notification of Awards: May 2023 
  • Funding Start Date for Clinical Research Fellowships & Clinical Movement Disorder Fellowships: July 2023 
  • Funding Start Date for Remaining Awards: August 2023
