Description

The Secrétariat du Québec aux relations canadiennes has launched a call for projects on a priority research theme under the Research Support Program. Researchers and research organizations have until 5 p.m. on November 1 to submit projects on managing the risks and disturbances likely to occur in federal systems and their impacts on intergovernmental relations and the operation of federalism.

Given that disturbances and risks – such as pandemics, climate change, natural disasters and the threats raised by artificial intelligence – now occur more often and require the design of ever more complex public policies, it is worth asking how a federal system can provide a suitable response.

Projects may focus on one or more risks and may involve a comparative study, provided that the Canadian federal system is included.

The Research Support Program (RSP) aims to support the development and dissemination of knowledge to contribute to a better understanding of Québec and its approach to Canadian relations.

More specifically, it is designed to support:

  • – an increase in research and studies focusing on intergovernmental affairs, Québec studies, and the Canadian Francophonie;
  • – more effective dissemination of research findings and studies, through seminars and publications;
  • – more joint participation, by researchers from Québec and other places in Canada, in the production and dissemination of knowledge on the above themes;
  • – the emergence of a new generation of researchers working on intergovernmental affairs, Québec studies and the Canadian Francophonie.

All applications must meet the conditions of the Research Support Program. Projects may be planned over one or two fiscal years.

To apply, see the webpage for the Program, which includes links to the forms that must be completed.

Please distribute to researchers in the faculties and departments concerned by this call for projects.
