OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
2.1 Document the Social, Cultural and Economic Impact of the Fisheries on the Listuguj First Nation
Documentation of Social, Cultural, and Economic impact of the Fisheries on the Listuguj First Nation will include the following elements:
Own Source Revenues earned from fisheries by the Listuguj community
The contribution of the Listuguj fisheries to the social, cultural, and nutritional needs of the Listuguj First Nation
Social, economic, and cultural programming funded from community Own Source Revenues earned in the fisheries
Employment and Careers created in the Listuguj fisheries and supporting industry sectors in the Listuguj community
Wages and Earnings for Listuguj Fishers, Deckhands, Captains and Vessel Owners
Wages and Earnings for Indigenous businesses and workers in industries that support the Listuguj fisheries
2.2 Document the Economic Impact of the Listuguj Fisheries
Documentation of the Economic Impact of the Fisheries on the Economy will include the following elements:
The contribution of the Listuguj fisheries to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Provincial and National Economies
o The GDP contribution of Direct, Indirect and Induced Impacts will be measured.
The contribution of the Listuguj fisheries to Jobs, Wages and Salaries in Provincial and National Economies
o The contribution of Direct, Indirect and Induced Impacts will be measured.
o The Wages and Earnings of Non-Indigenous Fishers who Lease Listuguj Fishing Licences or participate in the Listuguj Fisheries will be identified.
The contribution of the Listuguj fisheries to Non-Indigenous Industry Sectors that support the Listuguj fisheries including boat building, the provision of fishing supplies and equipment, vessel insurance and other services that support the fisheries
The contribution of the Listuguj fisheries to Wholesale and Export Sales of Fish Products
The contribution of the Listuguj fisheries to Employment, Wages and Salaries in Fish Processing and Marketing
Timeline: Proposal will be accepted until July 29, 2022 at 4:30pm AST. However, if you require more time, please let me know before the deadline so we can have time to adjust and communicate with other groups.
