Description
This funding stream is designed to address operational need and help answer key questions in occupational health and safety and workers’ compensation. The Specific Priorities and Systematic Reviews grants support short-term, primary and secondary research of immediate relevance. This research gives us the strongest scientific evidence to use when developing policy and practice.
Applications due: July 24, 2026, at 4 p.m. PDT.
Open to qualified researchers based in (or formally affiliated with) a university or research institution in Canada and internationally, who have published studies related to the research questions. Grant amounts are determined by WorkSafeBC, based on the proposed project methodology, timeline, workplan and budget and will be considered to a maximum of three years.
WorkSafeBC is currently seeking research on the following topics:
- Analytical sampling methods for substances with an ACGIH TLV
- Impact of fuel selection during live fire training on firefighter exposures to carcinogens
