Research Funding Opportunities

This database contains information on internal and external funding opportunities for researchers at Memorial University.

Opportunities can be searched by keyword, strategic research theme, deadline or sponsor. Although every effort is made to ensure opportunities are assigned to the relevant theme, researchers are encouraged to search opportunities in all thematic areas.

At the bottom of this page you will find a list of all current funding opportunities. Please use the select boxes below in order to narrow those results (selecting a checkbox reduces the list to only those opportunities that match a given criteria).

Disclaimer

Please note this database in a repository of funding opportunities that have been provided to Research Initiatives & Services (RIS) by various agencies and sponsors. All opportunities denoted by an asterisk ( * ) are new, and institutional eligibility and compliance with Memorial University’s policies and procedures have not yet been assessed by RIS prior to posting.

A researcher wishing to apply for any opportunities marked by an asterisk is required to contact his/her unit’s grant facilitator (or, if the unit has no grants facilitator, an RIS staff member at RISworkflow@mun.ca) at least 10 working days prior to initiating application development so that the opportunity can be evaluated accordingly and appropriate internal deadlines may be assigned. These internal deadlines must be factored into the timing of the development and submission of all applications. Once the grants facilitator is notified, he/she will contact RIS immediately to advise of the notification so that RIS can also review the terms and have necessary discussions with the unit as the opportunity is evaluated.
